Statement Drafting: A virtual training workshop
A virtual legal course for local authority regulators
2 hours of training followed by up to an hour for questions
This training will enable delegates to identify when proceedings are criminal or civil in nature and the evidential, drafting and procedural differences involved in progressing warrant applications, criminal prosecutions, notice appeals, civil orders on conviction, such as Criminal Behaviour Orders, and specialist areas such as Housing Civil Penalties. Key points will be given and explained, concerning the content and format of criminal statements and the practical use of exhibits to aid in effective delivery of evidence as a witness. Tips and techniques will also be provided to ensure that delegates understand how to draft statements effectively for notice appeals and other civil proceedings.
